This sports biopic sheds light on the remarkable life of Padma Shri awardee Murlikant Petkar, chronicling his arduous journey, triumphs, and setbacks as he strives to achieve greatness in the world of sports. Produced by Nadiadwala Grandsons, the film takes viewers back to the 1970s, immersing them in a time when Petkar valiantly pursued his Olympic dreams against all odds.

The story unfolds with a young Murli harbouring aspirations of securing a gold medal for India at the Olympics. Influenced by the legendary wrestler Dara Singh, he embarks on a path of wrestling from a tender age, honing his skills in his village with sheer determination. Despite lacking formal training, Murli's natural talent and unwavering spirit propel him to victory in a local competition, setting the stage for his remarkable journey. As the narrative moves forward, the film delves into the transformative phases of Murli's life, transitioning from a young athlete to a soldier in the Indian Army. However, adversity strikes when he is tragically paralyzed from the knee down after sustaining multiple injuries during the 1971 Indo-Pak war.  This pivotal moment marks a turning point in Murli's life, as he defies all odds to emerge as a Paralympic gold medalist, showcasing unparalleled resilience and fortitude. What's impressive about this 2 hours 30 mins film is that nowhere it felt draggy and credit goes to Kabir Khan for making the screenplay so apt and applaudable.

Kartik Aaryan's portrayal of Murli is a testament to his exceptional acting prowess, effectively capturing the character's inner turmoil stemming from childhood bullying and scepticism regarding his potential. The film culminates in an emotionally charged finale, leaving audiences inspired and rooting for Kartik's stellar performance. I can easily rate it as his career best. Vijay Raaz as Murli's coach was simply outstanding with his act. He has some really good dialogues that adds on all the motivational factors in this film. Yashpal Sharma, Rajpal Yadav, Shreyas Talpade and the rest of the supporting cast did a fine job as well.

To conclude I would say, Chandu Champion' is one such sports biopic that the audience of this generation shouldn't miss. it is a poignant tale of human triumph over adversity, resonating with viewers on a profound emotional level.
