Citizenship Amendment Act that was passed on December 11, 2019, received mixed reactions by the citizens of India. The violent act of Delhi Police against Jamia Millia students called for further unrest in the country. The passing of the bill has not only divided social media into two but even the film fraternity. Watching industry being quiet and not reacting to the current scenario, Bollywood actor and a renowned standup comedian Vir Das took to his twitter handle and told netizens that the ‘entertainment industry is not going to stand with them and they would indeed make a movie on them.’

Taking to Twitter, he made a series of Tweets, that read, “A humble appeal to anyone protesting to keep your protests non-violent. Don't play the game they want and become part of their narrative. Make your point. Don't have it diluted by violence. Stay safe. A large section of the entertainment industry is not going to stand with you, and I'm sorry about that. They're gonna try and make a profitable movie about you someday though.” His another tweet read, “You think these leaders are assuming we are all so upset about just one bill?” (ALSO READ: Akshay Kumar Clarifies He 'Liked' Video Mocking Attack On Jamia Students By Mistake)
However, the actor Vir is concerned about the students of Jamia Milia. When Vir tweeted, fans all over the world agreed with him and his views. They flooded his comment section with their viewpoints. A user wrote, “Don't bother, or worry about Bollywood! I anyway never had any regards for Bollywood! For me all these and I mean literally all of these are a bunch of jokers who if paid, will dance and sing and even get themselves mocked at!  So its stupidity to expect anything from these guys!”
While another said, “Who will make a movie on Delhi police? You guys have all the time to take anti-govt stand that too on streets!! Can't dare to go to courts because you guys are losing there legally. Vandalizing public property fellows are heroes and those protecting it are villains!” (ALSO READ: Jamia Millia Protest: Ayushmann Khurrana, Dia Mirza, Vicky Kaushal, Parineeti Chopra Say 'Democracy Has Shaken')
