Now, in a twist that seems to be straight of a John Grisham novel, the title role -- of Jagdish Tyagi aka Jolly -- will not be essayed by Arshad Warsi, who played it in the original. Instead, Akshay Kumar has been asked to play the part.

Akki is excited about the idea and is likely to sign on the dotted line in a few days. The Airlift actor, we hear, will have a sharing revenue partnership with Fox Star Studios in this deal.
A source close to the development confirmed the news, saying,, “Yes, we are in advanced talks with Akshay and if all goes well, we shall make an official announcement soon.”
So, where does that leave Boman Irani -- he had played Jolly’s opponent Tejinder Rajpal in the original -- and Arshad? Will they be a part of the sequel, albeit in different roles? "A decision is yet to be taken on that front," said the source.
