A few weeks ago, reports of a drug angle surfaced in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case, and the Narcotics Control Bureau had been investigating it. The NCB arrested Sushant’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty, Sushant’s former house manager Samuel Miranda, among others. Rhea and Showik’s bail plea was heard by the Mumbai sessions court a few days ago. Their bail plea was rejected by the court, implying that they were to remain in jail. Republic had reported that it was likely that Rhea and Showik will approach the Bombay High Court challenging the sessions court's order.

Now, Times Now reports that Rhea and her brother Showik have moved the High Court, after their plea was rejected by the sessions court. Times Now has reportedly also accessed the bail plea. Meanwhile, earlier, Rhea’ s plea had stated that while she was in custody, she was coerced into making ‘self incriminating’ confessions. Rhea’s plea had said, “The NCB has used these basic facts to spin a false narrative that portrays Rhea as being someone who finances the illicit traffic or harbouring of offenders. There is no allegation of Rhea having procured or financed any drug whatsoever outside of the period during which she was in a relationship with Rajput,” as quoted by TOI.

However,  after the hearing at sessions Court, Times Now reported the counsel for NCB saying that the Court is satisfied that Rhea's statements were all voluntary and not influenced. He denied Rhea’s claim that she was coerced into making the confessions.
