March 11 marks World Kidney Day! And as per reports, Ranbir Kapoor has pledged to donate not just his kidney, but his other organs as well. In an event organised by the Amar Gandhi Foundation, joining Ranbir Kapoor, Karan Johar, Ayan Mukherji, and Amitabh Bachchan also pledged to donate their kidneys. For the uninitiated, legendary actor, Shammi Kapoor, died due to Kidney failure on 14th August 2011
At the event in Mumbai, Ranbir Kapoor said, "I Pledge & donate my organs, I hope that by me doing this it will make a difference to one person or two-person lives, and it keeps going forward and it will make a difference, so please do consider pledging your organs."
Alia Bhatt came forward to support the cause as well. "It is important to make people aware of the process behind it. I think it's important to come and talk about the health issues and Amar Gandhi Foundation and Organ donation awareness drive. Make people aware of the prospects of their organ donation, alive or post-death," said the actress.
On the work front, Ranbir and Alia will be seen together in Ayan Mukherji's Brahmastra. Fans are eagerly looking forward to the duo's upcoming film as they are sharing screen space for the first time on the big screen. The movie also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy in pivotal roles. That's not all! Brahmastra also stars South Superstar Nagarjuna.
