Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s Brahmastra was set to hit the screen on December 4, 2020, but due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, the film went to a halt. Now as per reports in Mid Day, the director Ayan Mukerji is planning to resume the shoot to complete the few remaining portions of the movie in the next week. This film will mark lovebirds Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's appearance on the big screen for the first time. The production design team is on its toes to build a set to shoot the remaining portions of the film.
The filmmaker will be shooting for the remaining portions of the movie, from February 18, 2021 on a set currently being erected at a studio in Kandivali, Mumbai. The filmmaker is reported to have chalked out a week-long shoot, post which the team will wrap up the project. This week's long shooting schedule will include the film’s main lead Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor. Amidst the COVID-19 lockdown, the filmmaker worked on the VFX work and editing work of the movie
A source told the publication, “Ayan had almost completed filming the superhero drama, in keeping with the December 4 release date. While he utilised the lockdown to speed up the VFX work and editing, a small portion remains to be shot. The production design team has a week to build the set in the Kandivali studio before Ayan begins shooting on February 18. He has chalked out a week-long stint with the leads, post which it will be a wrap for the project.”
