Moviegoers and fans are eagerly waiting for the release of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra. The first instalment of the Karan Johar backed trilogy, directed by Ayan Mukerji was scheduled to release on August 15, 2019, but it was however delayed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The film’s release was then pushed to Christmas 2019 and Summer 2020 then. Read to know why producer Karan Johar and director Ayan Mukerji are holding the release date announcement of Brahmastra.

According to a report in Bollywoodlife, the source close to the development revealed that the makers are planning for a 2022 release. The source said that Ayan Mukerji and Karan Johar are eager to announce the film’s reason soon. However, the source in the report mentioned that the producer and director have been facing some obstacles. As per the report, the makers of Brahmastra are in two minds about the release date between November and December because of the multiple big releases lined up in those two months.

The source in the report shared another reason behind the delay in the release of Brahmastra. As per the report, the source said that the second reason behind the delay in the announcement is the fact that those big releases have already got to build buzz, and lock their dates. The source said that it would be also possible that those movies will start promotions before that of Brahmastra. Speaking of the movies in question, Akshay Kumar's Prithviraj, Shahid Kapoor's Jersey, Tiger Shroff's Heropanti 2, and Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor's Laal Singh Chaddha are films release between that window.
