SpotboyE.com (December 14) was the first to report that the TV serial Balika Vadhu's writer Gajra Kottary has written a book, Once Upon A Star, based (loosely) on Arjun Kapoor's mother (late) Mona Kapoor.
The latest on this is that Gajra met Arjun to tell him all about the book. Anupam Kher organised the meeting.
But, Arjun hasn't taken to Gajra's book kindly.
A source close to the development said, "Arjun told Gajra that he wouldn't read the book as it would pain him. He also told her that there would be parts in her book which he wouldn't agree to."
The story of the book is very similar to Boney Kapoor-Mona-Sridevi story. This was evident from what Gajra had to say tell us yesterday, "My hero is not a film producer but the first son of a film family. His parents adore his wife. They have two kids (son and daughter). The wife keeps hearing rumours about his affairs. One day, she realises that he is in a very serious affair. Suddenly, the other woman's mother dies. The man steps in to take care of her and gets so close to her that he decides to ruffle his picture-perfect joint family scenario."
Added the source, "Maybe Gajra wanted to tell Arjun before he learns from outside that she has lifted elements for her book from his mother's life. But Arjun was totally justified in showing no interest. Arjun was very close to his mother."
