Just recently, while basking in the success of film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, Saif Ali Khan made a statement about how he thinks the British gave the concept of India to has while sharing his perspective on Indian history. Since then, Saif Ali Khan has been receiving a lot of flak for his statement that Britishers gave India a history. Now, after being trolled by many on social media, BJP leader Meenakshi Lekhi targets Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s 3-year-old son Taimur Ali Khan after Saif’s British gave India statement.

While Saif Ali Khan is under the radar for being a history buff, his 3-year-old son Taimur Ali Khan also got dragged into the mess, thanks to dearest daddy. Enraged by Saif Ali Khan’s comments on Indian history, on Twitter, BJP leader Meenakshi Lekhi targeted 3-year-old Taimur for his name. She tweeted, “Even Turks find Taimur a brute! But some people choose to name their children Taimur .” Calling out Saif for his son Taimur’s name, in her tweet, BJP leader Meenakshi Lekhi spoke on how even the Turkish find Taimur a brute, but Saif chose to name his child behind the King Timur. The BJP leader retweeted a tweet made by a Twitterati who shared an ancient picture sharing the history of the Turkish invader Timur. Needless to say, Saif Ali Khan has hurt the sentiments of many by passing statements on the history of India. Talking about Saif’s comment, in the interview, talking about his film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior based on  17th-century Maharashtrian military leader Tanhaji Malusare, the actor said, “I don't think this is history. I don't think there was a concept of India till the British gave it one."

Meanwhile, this is not the first time Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan’s son Taimur Ali Khan’s name has been compared to Central Asian invader Timur. As Saif and Kareena received a lot of flak for naming their son behind the invader, the actor had told Mumbai Mirror earlier in 2017 that as they loved the sound of Taimur, they named their son that and cleared that it is a Persian name which means ‘Iron’.
