The Kumar war is out in the open and making news. T-Series head honcho Bhushan Kumar has severed ties with Akshay Kumar, courtesy his fallout over Mogul and especially his latest tweet.
Finally, after a spate of denials that Akshay is doing his film Mogul, Bhushan Kumar has clearly said it in his statement last night that it's not going to be Akshay anymore who will play his late father Gulshan Kumar.
It is a known fact in the industry that Bhushan and Akshay had a major fallout over Mogul but neither of them spoke about it. And the big Mogul poster of Akshay remained at the reception of the T-Series office. At the trailer launch of Nanak Shah Fakir, when Akshay was asked if he is doing Mogul, he simply said, “I myself don’t know yet”. But what has now made the fallout more bitter is the content of Bhushan's statement to Indian Boxoffice.
The idea behind saying, "He could be bigger than Akshay Kumar" looks a well-planned move to hit Akshay below the belt, which obviously wouldn't have gone down well with the Rustom star.
We also hear that Bhushan had been going around in the industry saying that he asked Akshay to leave the film, while the truth is that Akshay had told him that he was not interested in it anymore. The exact reason for Akshay's unwillingness to do the film has still not come from him, but the buzz was that the two disagreed on the storyline and remuneration. And mind you, Akshay had told Bhushan about his unavailability on Mogul long since. Wonder why Bhushan was in denial for months and even went on to insert some clarifications in the media that he and Akshay were on the same page. One doesn't need to be a rocket scientist after this tweet to fathom that the fallout between the two was ugly.
We wish that Bhushan had been restrained in his announcement, albeit indirect, of Akshay not doing Mogul. Impudence is ill-advised.
Akshay might retaliate. Will he? Won't he?
