The devastating second wave of COVID-19 pandemic has wreaked havoc in the country, and amid the COVID-19 crisis, several Bollywood celebrities have stepped up to contribute in any way they can. From donating funds, to amplifying the patients’ SOS call for hospital beds, oxygen cylinders, medicines- celebrities have been using their social media platforms to reach more people. Bhumi Pednekar has been relentless in her COVID relief efforts, and now, in her tweet, has posted a plea for a breast milk donor for a newborn baby whose mother succumbed to COVID-19.
Bhumi Pednekar, in her plea, urged lactating mothers in West Bengal to help if they can, as the two-month-old baby needs breast milk. She tweeted, “2 month baby, mother passed from covid,urgently needs breast milk donations near Bankura, West Bengal-lactating mothers who can freeze the milk themselves to directly come forward,he can collect frozen milk once a week from Kolkata, Durgapur, Bankuura, Bishnupur DM @RaveenaPatel.” A few social media users replied with whatever leads they had.
Through her digital initiative COVID Warrior, Bhumi Pednekar has been attempting to help patients and their families with the resources they need amid the COVID-19 crisis in India.

While speaking to Filmfare, Bhumi Pednekar opened up about the same, and said, “The internet can be used for greater good and social media is a powerful tool if used as a unifier of people.
