The makers of Bhakshak dropped the movie's trailer today! Helmed by director Pulkit and featuring Bhumi Pednekar, Aditya Srivastava, and an ensemble cast, the film is scheduled for a Netflix release on February 9. Going by the trailer, Bhumi essays the role of Vaishali Singh, an investigative journalist determined to unveil the truth behind the reported incidents, even if it means putting her own life on the line. We also get to see glimpses of CID fame Aditya Srivastava portraying a corrupt figure orchestrating the assaults. Sanjay Mishra as the cameraman, and Sai Tamhankar as a police officer, skillfully avoiding excessive plot revelations while offering intriguing hints about the characters' roles. Talking about the film, The Lady Killer actress recently told news agency ANI about her experience of stepping into the shoes of a journalist. She said, “Journalism is a difficult career...it needs a lot of courage to ask the right questions, especially to the people who are in power. To ask questions fearlessly definitely needs a lot of courage… I salute the journalists out there for doing their job with integrity and fearlessness. I have learned a lot by working on this film. I feel honoured.”




She further adds "Working on Bhakshak was quite challenging as it is based on a sensitive and hard-hitting topic. The film asks questions at a core level that is bound to shake one's conscience. I hope the film sparks conversations that lead to meaningful change. The film sheds light on the crimes against the children,"

Bhakshak is set to debut on February 9, exclusively available for streaming on Netflix.
