Bawaal was released on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, July 21, 2023. Starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead, the duo plays an on-screen couple in the romance drama film. Following its release, the film has been trending on social media and multiple users have shared their opinions about the same and claimed that a dialogue that has come across as insensitive. Lisa Ray has also reacted to the same.

In a screenshot shared from a scene in Bawaal, Janhvi’s character Nisha can be seen saying, like Every relationship goes through their Auschwitz.



In translation, the actress compared the sentence said by someone else in the movie. The dialogue has come across as insensitive since Auschwitz is known for the horrifying holocaust in which many lost their lives tragically.

As per the movie, Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor go to Europe and learn about Auschwitz for a reason. In real life, Varun and Janhvi visited Auschwitz and heard the story of World War 2 and the story of Jews as well. 

Janhvi and Varun visited the place like tourists and heard the pre-recorded tapes talking about the history of the place.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Bawaal also stars Manoj Pahwa, Anjuman Saxena, Mukesh Tiwari amongst others.
