Balaji Motion Pictures’ latest offering, A Flying Jatt couldn’t work its magic at the box-office and the production house ran into huge losses. Shortly after that, Sameer Nair, Group CEO of Balaji Telefilms, admitted that the production house will be more cautious with their projects henceforth. And it seems, they are putting their words into practice.

The next project on their plate was supposed to be Veere Di Wedding, which Ekta Kapoor was producing along with Rhea Kapoor. The chick flick stars Kareena Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania.

However, since this morning, rumours in the trade suggest that Balaji may not co-produce the movie. This has understandably sent flutters in the Kapoor family.

We hear, Anil Kapoor rushed to Eros International, requesting them to co-produce the chick flick along with his banner Anil Kapoor Films Company. Unfortunately, Eros too did not seem too inclined to invest in the film at the moment.

A source close to the development says, “The studio formula is collapsing. At a time like this, it won’t be easy to find a producer. So a few months’ delay is inevitable for Veere Di Wedding.”

What adds to their woes is that they are running out of time. Kareena is expecting her first child in December and the team will have to shoot a few portions before she goes on her maternity break.

Rhea is extremely passionate about this project. So the young producer will try her best to see her dream project taking shape. Anil, on his part, too will be hunting for producers. Let’s see who he approaches next. Or will they convince Balaji to come back on board? Keep watching this space.
