Ayushmann Khurrana Turns Down Imtiaz Ali’s Amar Singh Chamkila Biopic To Take A Hiatus From Work?

Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali is gearing up for the release of his next film tentatively titled Aaj Kal, starring Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan in the lead roles. The film is a sequel of 2009 film Love Aaj Kal, which starred Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan. Now, after this, the director is working on another interesting project, the biopic of Punjabi folk singer Amar Singh Chamkila. Back in December, there were reports stating that Imtiaz Ali is considering Kartik Aaryan and Ayushmann Khurana for the lead role in the biopic of Amar Singh Chamkila. Now, it looks like Ayushmann has rejected the film offer due to personal reasons.

According to Koimoi, Ayushmann Khurrana has turned down the film. The actor, who had a great 2019 with his back-to-back hit films such as Bala, Dream Girl, is now looking to spend some time with his family, which is why he won’t be a part of the film. The report also stated that when Ayushmann was asked by Imtiaz about the film, he politely turned it down because he plans on taking four months hiatus from work after the release of his films. Ayushmann Khurrana has some interesting line up of films that will release this year. He will next be seen in Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavhdhan, which is a sequel to the 2017 film Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. The film is scheduled to release on 21 February 2020. Ayushmann will also be seen in Shoojit Sircar’s Gulabo Sitabo, also starring Amitabh Bachchan. Gulabo Sitabo is scheduled for an April 2020 release.
