With ever-increasing cases of child abuse and violence against children in the country, actor Ayushmann Khurrana unites with UNICEF to create awareness about it. The Article 15 actor has been appointed as Celebrity Advocate for UNICEF’s global campaign, Ending Violence Against Children (EVAC). The actor in this campaign will be directing people’s attention to the issues related to child abuse in the country. In conversation with Pinkvilla he explained his role in this campaign including why it is unacceptable and how it can be prevented.

The actor shares that any kind of violence against children is unacceptable and he would use his influence to let the message of this campaign reach far and wide. Ayushmann said, “As a UNICEF celebrity advocate, my role is to further children’s rights, to support UNICEF in advocating for these rights using my voice and my influence. One of the major issues I am supporting is ending violence against children, to advocate that violence against children is unacceptable, and it is preventable.”

He further added that even though we hear about many cases against children, not many are being reported in order to stop them, hence, with him joining hands with UNICEF, he will draw attention to this issue.

Ayushmann further adds, “Violence against children is pervasive, but how often do we hear about it being reported or discussed? I will be drawing attention to this issue, making violence against children visible. We need more and more people acknowledging that violence happens, taking steps to end violence as well as to report it.” ALSO READ: ‘Ayushmann’s Humility Is His Appealing Quality!’, Says Ayushmann Khurrana’s Mass Communication Professor In Her Blog
