A special court in Mumbai on Thursday reserved order on the bail pleas of Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan's and others until October 20 - owing to Dussehra and other holidays. He, along with a few others, was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on October 3 in connection with the seizure of banned drugs on board a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast.
So far, 20 people have been arrested in the Mumbai drug bust case. The NCB has reportedly accused Aryan Khan of procuring drugs, while his counsel has reportedly maintained that no drugs were found with his client during raids. The probe agency also claimed to have unearthed global links related to Aryan Khan, according to an India Today report. According to The Times Of India, Aryan is currently lodged at the Arthur Road jail.
Following the Court's order on Thursday, actress Swara Bhasker took to Twitter and shared her reaction. “#AryanKhan #AryanKhanBail Pure harassment!” she tweeted.
Rahul Dholakia, director of Shah Rukh Khan's film Raees, said that he was disappointed. “I respect and support people doing their job, unfortunately this is not seeming to be about that. Disappointed with the decision of extending Aryan’s jail time. #AryanKhanBail,” he tweeted.
While these legal proceedings continue, Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan have been receiving support from their friends from the industry. Salman Khan and Karan Johar have visited them a few times. Hrithik Roshan, his ex-wife Sussanne Khan, Shatrughan Sinha and Pooja Bhatt are among those who have shown their support to SRK and Aryan through social media posts and comments.
But these names are very few in number. Bollywood at large has maintained a deafening silence over the issue. Shatrughan Sinha, to this end, has said they are ‘godi kalakars’ who think it is other people’s problem and they should fight with it themselves. “They want the person to fight his own battle. The industry is a bunch of scared folks,” he said.
He also averred that SRK is being targeted. “Shah Rukh is definitely the reason why the boy is being targeted. There are other names like Munmun Dhamecha and Arbaaz Merchant, but nobody is talking about them. The last time such a thing happened, the focus was on Deepika Padukone, although there were other names involved, and known names too, but the focus was on her only,” Shatrughan told ETimes.
“This time they have Aryan Khan to play with, because he is Shah Rukh Khan’s son and they’ve got a chance to settle scores with the actor,” he said, pointing out that no drugs were found with Aryan.
