A special NDPS court in Mumbai on Wednesday rejected Aryan Khan's bail plea in the Mumbai cruise drugs case. The bail application of two other accused in the case - Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha - was also turned down. After the verdict, Aryan's legal team said they would now move the Bombay High Court, according to a report published in The Times Of India. Aryan Khan, along with a few others, was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on October 3 in connection with the seizure of banned drugs onboard a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast.

Aryan Khan was sent to 14-day judicial custody on October 7 and has been lodged at the Arthur Road jail since then. Aryan’s lawyer had argued that no contraband was found on him and that he will not tamper with evidence - after the Narcotics Control Bureau strongly opposed his bail plea. The NDPS court, however, ruled that Aryan's custody should be extended.

The special Mumbai court had reserved its order on Aryan Khan’s bail plea during the last hearing. They had reserved the order for Wednesday.

So far, 20 people have been arrested in the Mumbai drug bust case. The NCB has reportedly accused Aryan Khan of procuring drugs, while his counsel has reportedly maintained that no drugs were found with his client during raids. The probe agency also claimed to have unearthed global links related to Aryan Khan, according to an India Today report. According to The Times Of India, Aryan is currently lodged at the Arthur Road jail.

While these legal proceedings continue, Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan have been receiving support from their friends from the industry. Salman Khan, Karan Johar, Hrithik Roshan, Sussanne Khan, Shatrughan Sinha, Swara Bhasker, Rahul Dholakia and Pooja Bhatt are among those who have shown their support to SRK and Aryan through social media posts and comments.
