Veteran actor Arun Bali left for the heavenly abode at age of 79 on Friday morning, October 7, 2022 at 4:30 am in Mumbai. He was suffering from Myasthenia Gravis, a rare and long-lasting disease that affects the nerves and muscles. His condition was made public in January this year when he was admitted to Hiranandani Hospital in Mumbai for treatment.
The saddening news of Arun Bali’s death was shared by ANI via Twitter and they wrote, “Veteran actor Arun Bali passes away at the age of 79 years in Mumbai”.
While speaking to PTI, Arun Bali’s son Ankush Bali told, “My father left us. He was suffering from Myasthenia gravis. He had mood swings for two-three days. He told the caretaker he wanted to go to the washroom and after coming out he told him he wanted to sit down and he never got up then.” He further mentioned that his father was responding to the treatment well but he passes away in the morning.
Earlier when the late actor was hospitalized, Ankush’s close friend Nupur Alankar and member of CINTAA told ETimes, “I was on call with Arun Bali sir when I sensed something is majorly wrong with his speech and pointed it out to him. After that I tried contacting his son Ankush, but couldn't get through. Then I called up Rajeev Menon who is Ankush's colleague and got his other number and I advised him to take Arun sir to the hospital immediately.”
Soon when the news spread of his death, fans were heartbroken and they paid tribute to the late actor. One fan wrote, “He was so good in every role, i still remember him in desh mein nikla hoga chaand” and another fan wrote, “God bless his soul”. One user wrote, “Saw him battling for life, and surviving in the reel, but he bids us goodbye on the day of the release” and another user wrote, “He was such a natural actor. RIP.”
His son, Ankush has confirmed that the late actor’s last rites will be performed on Saturday, October 8, 2022, as the late actor’s two daughters who live in the United States will arrive soon.
Arun Bali has been part of many films and television serials. He is known for playing a grandfather in the daily soap Kumkum. He was part of Bollywood films like Laal Singh Chaddha, Kedarnath,3 Idiots and many more. His last film ‘Goodbye’ starring Amitabh Bachchan and Rashmika Mandanna released today. He has also won a national award.
