Arjun Kapoor has been lying low for some time as far as signing films is concerned. But SpotboyE has now exclusively learnt that he has consented to do Abhishek Verman's next film.

Arjun was a part of Abhishek's box-office winner 2 States and the duo had gotten along famously back then.

A source close to the actor says, "Abhishek recently met Arjun and gave a detailed narration of his script. The latter was impressed and has given his consent. They will start shooting sometime mid next year."

Arjun's last release was Tevar in January, which tanked at the box-office. After that, he signed only one film - R Balki's Ki And Ka with Kareena Kapoor. He was finalised for Chak De! India director Shimit Ameen's next project with Yash Raj Films, but it has now been indefinitely delayed.

"Initially, the filmmaker's plan was to make the sequel to 2 States, but this film isn't that. It's another subject altogether," the source adds.

While details are sketchy at this point, the movie is most likely Kalank, a love story set during the Partition-era. "The idea was conceived by Yash Johar. Karan Johar felt Abhishek would do justice to it. It's his dream project and he feels Arjun is just the right choice," the source explains.
