Actor Arjun Kapoor on several occasions has taken a strong stand against misogynistic headlines carried out by a few news portals. He has also, time and again, proven that he is a feminist. On Saturday too, Arjun called out a news portal for carrying an article and a corresponding headline that compared his salary and wealth with his ladylove Malaika Arora's. He put the headline on his Instagram stories, and said it was unfair to compare a woman’s wealth with anybody, leave alone her partner.
Arjun, in his now deleted story, said, “It’s sad and shameful to read a daft headline like this in 2021. Of course, she earns well and has worked for so many years to be in a place not be compared to anyone let alone me (sic).” Malaika, indeed, has been working for long, and has made a name for herself without much help from outside. She is now considered one of the most eminent personalities on the TV space. Malaika began her career as a video jockey, followed by which she appeared in music videos. Her claim to fame was her dance number, Chaiyya Chaiyya from the 1998 movie, Dil Se. Later, she went on to feature in several special numbers in movies.
She has also donned the judge’s hat on a couple of reality shows.
Malaika and Arjun made their relationship official in 2019, and have since been the target of trolls, mainly because of the age gap between them and the fact that Malaika was earlier married to Salman Khan's brother Arbaaz.
