Actors Dharmendra, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol starrer Apne 2 was announced a while back and it was slated to release in Diwali 2021. However, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and a massive spike in the cases, the director of the film, Anil Sharma decided the shoot of the same will be pushed ahead and they are also considering the 85-years-old actor’s health. While speaking to TOI, Anil said that they haven’t kick-started with the shoot and hence, he feels there is no point in clinging to the scheduled Diwali release.
Given the current situation, Sharma thinks it is favourable that the shootings get postponed. Plus, he also thinks the theatres will reopen only after a few months which only gives him more reasons not to complete the shoot now. Apart from this, the other reason that is concerning Sharma is Dharmendra’s health and he thinks that it is his priority. The filmmaker said they were planning to start the shoot in Punjab but now, they changed the shooting location to London. As per the reports, Anil and his team are planning to kick-start the first schedule in London in July.
Reportedly, it will be a 45-day schedule and then they are expected to return to Punjab and Mumbai. Meanwhile, Apne had touched a billion hearts with a good mix of action, emotions and values. Keeping the essence and values of the first film, Apne 2 takes the original engaging story many notches higher with action, drama, emotions and entertainment along with new characters being added in.
It is also said that Sunny’s son Karan Deol will also be starring in the second instalment of the cult drama, Apne.
