Though Anushka Sharma was seen fulfilling her brand endorsement commitments, she has remained away from the silver screen since 2018. Last seen in 2018 in Aanand L Rai’s Zero, she probably did not sign any film. Meanwhile, she entered a new phase in her life, as she embraced motherhood earlier this year. The Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi actress along with her husband Virat Kohli, welcomed their baby girl, Vamika. In conversation with Grazia, she revealed why she haven’t resumed the shoot of her films.
The actress revealed she wanted to take time off and retrospect what kind of work, she wanted to sign up for. In addition to this, she spoke about mental health, she said, “The conversation surrounding mental health and the importance of taking a break has now gained prominence, given the trying times we’ve had.” According to her, having choc-o-bloc diary doesn’t mean that a certain person is a better worker. She adds, “As a creative individual, you have to allow yourself that breathing room, that space to grow, invent, and re-invent.”
Anushka feels women have additional pressure in both the phases of their life, before and after pregnancy, she adds, “Despite being somebody who is fairly self-aware, I was worried. I kept thinking – am I going to hate my body?”
