Anushka Sharma is one such actor who never shies away from expressing her opinions on social media. Recently, the actress slammed the popular international sports brand Puma for using her picture in a sports bra without her permission. Anushka reminded the brand that she is not their ambassador so they cannot use her picture for any sort of publicity. She asked the brand to take it down. Interestingly, Puma has finally reacted to this but their response has left netizens in splits.
Taking to her Instagram story, the Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi actress shared Puma’s post featuring her picture in a yellow coloured sports bra and blue leggings. Alongside it she wrote, “Hey, @pumaindia? I’m sure you know that you have to take permission before you can use my imagery for publicity since I’m not your ambassador. Please take it down!” and added angry face emojis. In her next follow-up post, the actress shared Puma’s reaction and wrote, “I’ll sleep on it.” In their reply, the sports brand shared a picture of a note that read ‘Puma X Anushka’ and has confidential written on it. Puma wrote in the caption, “Hey @anushkasharma, we should’ve reached out sooner! Soon after this, netizens started trolling the brand as well as Anushka saying it was just a promotional strategy. One user commented, “Both teams played well. What a publicity stunt.” Another user said, “Promotion krne ke liye naye naye tarike nikl rahe hai inlog.” Interestingly, Anushka’s husband and cricketer Virat Kohli is the face for Puma brand along with Kareena Kapoor Khan who is the brand ambassador for the sports brand.
Meanwhile, Anushka Sharma is making her comeback with the upcoming sports drama ‘Chakda Xpress’ where she plays Indian pace bowler Jhulan Goswami. Directed by Prosit Roy, the film will stream exclusively on Netflix.
