Only yesterday, Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma and Indian Skipper Virat Kohli announced that they have started a campaign, #InThisTogether to help people who are suffering in the crisis. The couple donated Rs 2 crores and they aim to collect Rs. 7 crores. But now the actor feels grateful as they have raised 50 per cent of the funds. Just some time back, Anushka took to her Twitter account to show her fans that her initiative has helped collect Rs. 3.6 crores and thanked all for their generous contribution. The amount raised by Anushka and Virat will aid the exemplary work of COVID Warriors.
She wrote, “Grateful to everyone who has donated so far. Thank you for your contribution. We have crossed the half way mark, let’s keep going. #InThisTogether #ActNow #OxygenForEveryone #TogetherWeCan #SocialForGood” Talking about the same, Sharma said, “Virat and I have been hugely pained looking at the inexplicable suffering that people are going through and we hope that this fund will aid in our fight against the virus that we are all helplessly witnessing. We are praying for everyone’s safety. We hope that you join us in our prayers to save as many lives as possible because we are all in this together.”
A video of the same was shared on her Instagram account where she wrote, “As our country battles the second wave of Covid-19, and our healthcare systems are facing extreme challenges, it breaks my heart to see our people suffering. So, Virat and I have initiated a campaign #InThisTogether, with Ketto, to raise funds for Covid-19 relief.”
