Anurag Kashyap and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are two of the
most established filmmakers of current times. However, their style of
filmmaking is drastically different. While one has found immense success with
hard-hitting small budget films, the other is synonymous with opulence.
Anurag Kashyap
SpotboyE.com got talking with Anurag recently and during the course of the conversation, the filmmaker told us that he considers Bhansali to be the master of big budget films.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali
“Sanjay Leela Bhansali has the strength to say something
(that he wants to). He creates opera like cinema. It's pure magic. Nobody
shoots songs like him. At that scale, you need a lot of patience - I don't have
it. Also, you can see Sanjay's money on-screen. He is a pure artiste. I look
forward to watching his films because he has a unique way of looking at
things,” said Anurag.
Talking about the Padmavati controversy, Anurag opined,
"I know what he (Sanjay Leela Bhansali) is going through. I know how he
must be feeling."
Padmavati has been under the scanner ever since it went
on floors. Numerous protests later, makers voluntarily deferred the release of
the film. Yesterday afternoon, we brought you the
story that the Censor Board wants changes in Ghoomar song and the title of the
film (Padmavat, not Padmavati). Latest on the front is that
the Rajput community has vehemently opposed the release of Padmavati
despite Censor Board offering to clear the film if Bhansali carries out the
cuts, err, modifications.
Meanwhile, in turbulent times like these, like Anurag,
Bhansali has found support in many celebs.
Not just about Bhansali, Anurag opened his heart out about many other things. Check out the full interview right here:
