Ranveer Singh is one of the finest actors in Bollywood currently. Especially when it comes to period dramas, he seems to be the best. After playing Bajirao in Bajirao Mastani, he appeared as the antagonist Allaudin Khilji in Padmaavat. Both the films got him accolades from all corners. Now, it seems another historical drama is on cards for Ranveer Singh. If the latest reports are anything to go by, Vashu Bhagnani's Pooja Entertainment has approached him to play the lead in Suryaputra Mahavir Karna.

As per PeepingMoon.com, Ranveer Singh has supposedly also shown interest in taking up the project, however, he hasn't given his nod as yet. A source informed the portal, "What Pooja Entertainment has announced is a revamped version of the project. They are making it with a different set of cast and production teams, on a much bigger scale than earlier planned. Envisioned on an unparalleled scale with benchmark visual effects, the film requires someone who could bring Karna alive on screen and the makers believe Ranveer fits the bill to the T. They have approached the actor and he has also shown his interest, however, nothing concrete has materialised so far."

It was in February 2021 that Pooja Entertainment had announced the project by sharing its teaser. By the looks of it, the film narrating the story of Karna from the Mahabharata is going to be a high-budgeted, visual treat. Guessing through Ranveer's track record he does seem to fit the bill.

Another period drama for Ranveer Singh was multi-starrer Takht by Karan Johar, however, the film has been shelved as of now. (Also Read: Ranveer Singh’s Cool Shade Game Is What You Need This Season; Time To Get All Summer-Ready)
