Actress Radhika Madan shared screen space for the very first time with late star Irrfan Khan in his last film Angrezi Medium. The film starred Irrfan Khan, Radhika Madan, Deepak Dobriyal and Kareena Kapoor Khan in pivotal roles. In an interview with IANS, Angrezi Medium actress Radhika Madan opened up about her fond memories with late actor Irrfan Khan on the sets of the film. Madan revealed how she never addressed Irrfan Khan as ‘sir’, but instead called him ‘papa’ or ‘dad’. She said, “I never addressed him as sir, I always addressed him as ‘papa’ or ‘dad’!” Sharing how Irrfan Khan reacted to her calling him ‘dad’, Radhika said, “He would just smile.”
Recalling the time when she first met him, Radhika Madan mentioned she addressed him as ‘dad’ even then. She said, “I remember when I first met him and I called him ‘dad’, instead of feeling weird about it, he gave me a big hug. I will always remember him as ‘dad’.” The Angrezi Medium actress mentioned that instead of feeling weird, Irrfan Khan gave her a big hug after she called him ‘dad’ on their first meeting.
Meanwhile, Radhika Madan also mentioned how she learned a lot from Irrfan Khan, not only on a professional level but also on a personal level. The actress shared that she feels grateful that she got the opportunity to just stand in front of him and share screen space and revealed that working with him was a big tick on her wish list. Irrfan Khan passed away on April 29, after fighting a two-year battle with neuroendocrine tumour. The late actor is survived by his wife, Sutapa Sikdar, and sons, Babil and Ayaan.
