Irrfan Khan is back with a bang. The actor, who was diagnosed with NeuroEndocrine tumour, announced his comeback with a heartfelt note on social media, few weeks back. The actor will next be seen in Dinesh Vijan’s next which is titled as Angrezi Medium, currently being shot in Udaipur. The film also stars Radhika Madan as his daughter, Kareena Kapoor Khan as the leading actress of the film. And now the latest one to join in is Pankaj Tripathi in a cameo role.
During a recent conversation with Mid-day, when the actor was asked about what made him say yes to the project, he said, “It is my love and respect for Irrfan and my friendship with Dinoo [Dinesh Vijan] that made me say yes.” Mid-day reports, Tripathi apparently plays the role of Tony, a wheeler-dealer who runs a travel agency and helps Khan's character and his on-screen daughter to reach the UK.
After Stree and Luka Chuppi, this is Pankaj’s 3rd collaboration with Vijan. When asked about the same he said, “He is my lucky mascot; I find a way to include him in my films. He's a huge admirer of Irrfan and was more than happy to lend himself in a small way."
Meanwhile, talking about Irrfan's return to the big screen, before starting the shoot of the film, in his note, Khan had written, “Maybe somewhere in the pursuit of winning, we forget how much it means to be loved. In our vulnerability, we are reminded. As I leave my footprints onto these steps of my life, I want to pause to be grateful for recieving your immense love and support, it soothed me in my process of healing. So I travel back to you, thanking you from the bottom of my heart.” Coming to Pankaj's cameo, it will be interesting to see two talent powerhouses collaborate.
