Ananya Panday and Punit Malhotra appeared on a chat show Starry Nights Gen Y, and that is where she revealed that she isn’t in a relationship because of how protective Punit is of her. In the promo for the episode, shared on social media by Zee Café, we can see Ananya say, “The fact that I am single is because of Punit Malhotra. Because he doesn’t let anyone hit on me.” She can also be seen trying a pick-up line on him by saying, “Do you believe in love at first sight or should I walk by again?”

Ananya Panday has been spotted with Kartik Aaryan on several occasions, adding fuel to the rumours of them dating. However, in an interview with Hindustan Times, she addressed it and said, “We actually laugh it off together. My dad (Chunky Panday) is an actor so I know that all these things come with the industry. I don’t think these rumours or anything for that matter changes the equation between us. Just because people are talking about certain things, doesn’t mean I am going to stop spending time with him, you know. We work together and enjoy spending time together.”
