In the year 1982, Amitabh Bachchan met with a fatal accident on the sets of the 1983 film Coolie. At that time, the news of the actor left the country in shock as he was declared clinically dead. But the actor recovered and returned home on September 24, 1982. Now, 37 years later, September 24, 2019, it was announced that Amitabh Bachchan will be receiving the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his contribution to Indian cinema. The video from 1982 is doing the rounds on the social media where Big B can be seen thanking his doctors and his well-wishers because of whom he recovered.

Big B had a near-death experience as by his own admission thinks he was reborn. As the actor is being awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, a video of Amitabh Bachchan returning back home after his recovery shared on Instagram revokes the dreadful memories from the past and reminds us of how the actor is a true legend. The video features the actor at the hospital until him walking back and welcomed home.
The award Amitabh Bachchan will receive was announced by the Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar on Tuesday. While the accident that Amitabh Bachchan survived took place when the actor was shooting an intense fight scene with Puneet Issar at the Bangalore University Campus. As Big B was supposed to land on the table according to the original scene, instead he misjudged the jump and landed abruptly which eventually hurt him badly with bruises, multiple fractures, internal haemorrhage on his abdominal part and internal bleeding. After surviving the fatal accident with the prayers of fans, the actor has contributed almost the major part of his life for the Indian cinema and films.
