Last night Hema Malini’s Juhu residence was echoing with wishes as the evergreen actress turned 68 yesterday.
Hema Malini was pleasantly surprised when Amitabh Bachchan dropped in with Jaya Bachchan to wish her.
While we were surprised that why was husband Dharmendra not a part of the celebrations? What must have kept Veeru away from his Basanti on such a special occasion?
Also none of the Deol brothers- Sunny, Bobby and Abhay were seen here.
Others who visited Hema Malini on her birthday were Shatrughan Sinha, Ramesh Sippy with his wife Kiran Juneja, daughter Esha Deol with husband Bharat Takhtani, Puneet Issar and Madhu.
Hema Malini or should we say industry’s ‘Dream Girl’ was highly inspired by Bollywood’s another rock solid performer Vyjayanthimala.
Reportedly, Hema Malini and family visited Vyjayanthimala’s concerts and discussed her performances later at home.
Hema Malini made her Bollywood debut in 1960 at a very young age but in no time she was a big name in the industry!
We can say that Hema Malini did the conventional in the most unconventional way! She broke loose from the typecast Indian heroine style and carved a niche for herself.
Be it her dialogue delivery or her mesmerizing beauty, her fans just couldn’t have enough of her.
After taking a break from films for a number of years, Hema made a comeback with Baghban in 2003. In 2004, Hema played Shah Rukh’s Aunt in Yash Chopra’s Veer-Zaara.
In 2011, she directed her second feature film Tell Me O Khuda which featured both her husband Dharmendra and her daughter Esha Deol.
