Coronavirus pandemic is spreading fast all across the world and with no immediate solution for this virus, people are left with uncertainty. India is on a 21-day lockdown, in an attempt to minimize the spread of coronavirus, and several other countries too have taken major steps in trying to avoid the spread of COVID-19. Now, World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus recently made a statement on the pandemic that drew social media ire from a section of netizens. Amitabh Bachchan has now shared artwork of a blindfolded Tedros, and said that it was too subtle for words.

CNN reported Tedros recently saying, "The time to act was actually a month ago, two months ago. … but we still believe there is opportunity," during a news briefing in Geneva. This statement of his that didn’t go down well with many Netizens, who called him out for his late response to China's coronavirus. They also pointed out WHO’s tweets from two months ago that stated no evidence of human-to-human transmission of the coronavirus was identified in Wuhan, and that the effectiveness of screening is uncertain. Tedros was also quoted saying two months ago that there was no reason for measures that unnecessarily interfere with international trade and travel. Dr. Tedros has now come under fire for the same, and an artwork of him, blindfolded by the mask, has been circulating on social media.

Amitabh Bachchan shared the artwork, the picture of a blindfolded Tedros, and wrote, “that is too subtle for words ..”


Meanwhile, just two days ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced a nationwide lockdown for 21 days in the wake of coronavirus pandemic. He urged citizens to not panic as the Centre and state governments are working to ensure all essential commodities and medicines are made available.
