Bollywood actor Amit Sadh recently announced on Instagram that he is going offline, and is taking a social media sabbatical amid the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the country. In his post, he wrote that his gym videos and reels will neither heal, nor entertain anyone at a tough time like this, and that the last thing the world needs is for him to show his privileged life, at a time when most people are facing a challenging time.
Now, in a recent interview, Amit Sadh opened up about people flaunting their privilege in the faces of those who are suffering. He then questioned whether Brad Pitt is showing off that he is on an exotic island. While speaking to Bombay Times, Amit Sadh said that he isn’t taking digs at anyone, but he personally feels that privileged people can be a little sensitive. “Logon ke paas paise nahi hai, there’s a global economic crisis, people are losing jobs and it’s all very disturbing. It could be anyone in their place tomorrow. If you cannot help or even if you are helping, we need to stop rubbing our privilege in their faces,” he said.
He further added that if he were to stop posting for a few days, and if the world were to forget him, that just means he didn’t matter, to begin with. “Is Brad Pitt showing you that he is on an exotic island while the rest are battling corona? No, right?” asked Amit Sadh.
On the work front, Amit Sadh was last seen in the sports drama 7 Kadam, which also stars Ronit Roy in the lead role. It is based on the story of a father and son duo who connect over their passion for football but cross paths in the clash of ideals and morals.
