Amid IT Raids, Swara Bhasker Shares ‘Appreciation Tweets’ For Taapsee Pannu And Anurag Kashyap: ‘Stand Strong, Warrior’

The Income Tax Department carried out raids at the properties of filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, and Bollywood actor Taapsee Pannu yesterday. As per reports in Hindustan Times, the raids were in connection with the Indian film production and distribution company Phantom Films, which was established by Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, Madhu Mantena, Vikas Bahl in 2011, but was later dissolved in 2018. Hours after the IT team carried out the raids, Swara Bhasker took to her social media to pen appreciation tweets for Taapsee and Anurag.

Swara Bhasker, was all praise for Taapsee Pannu, and she lauded her courage and conviction, asking her to stand strong. Without any mention of the IT raids, Swara Bhasker tweeted, “Appreciation tweet for @taapsee who is an amazing girl with courage and conviction that is rare to see now days.. Stand strong warrior!” Further, she also wrote another appreciation tweet for filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, and tweeted, “Appreciation tweet for @anuragkashyap72 who has been a cinematic trailblazer, a teacher and mentor of talent and a man With rare candour and a brave heart ! More power to you Anurag.”

Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha also came out in support of Taapsee and Anurag, and tweeted, “Kashyap and Taapsee I love you both. Just.”

According to a report in Times Of India, Taapsee, Anurag and many others faced Income Tax raids for alleged tax evasion. The searches were reportedly conducted at over 30 locations in Mumbai and Pune, at premises linked to Taapsee, Anurag as well as the now-dissolved production house Phantom Films.
