A day after Karan Johar released the video giving his side of the story, MNS Chitrapat President Ameya Khopkar has outright dismissed his plea, saying that Karan Johar has woken up too late.
In a statement given out to the media, Ameya Khopkar said, “Karan woke up very late! This isn't the time to say sorry! He had a change of heart, we didn't! We are firm on our demand. No multiplexes will show Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and if they do then we will be forced to break their screens. This issue is not just because of the Uri incident, it is going on since many years. We are sorry but people will not be able to see Ae di hai Mushkil.”
He also added, “A warning to all producers and filmmakers have been issued to ensure that they don’t work with any Pakistani artistes any more. Agar koi bhi Producer ya Production House ne Pakistani artiste ko kaam diya toh unko Pitenge!”
This reaction from MNS leader Ameya Khopkar has come post Karan Johar’s message, which he issued last night in an attempt to spread the word for the release of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
The video also indicated that Karan will not work with Pakistani artistes anymore which means that it's all over for Fawad Khan's next film with Dharma Productions in the pipeline. It is known that Fawad was supposed to do Aditya Dhar's movie with Karan Johar's production house (VIDEO: Please Understand Me And Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Says Karan Johar, 18 Oct )
In the video, Karan made it clear that he condemns any act of terrorism and 'going forward, will not engage talent from the neighbouring country (Read: Pakistan)'.
Need we add what Karan meant?
Debutant Aditya Dhar is also a lyricist. It would have been essentially a musical love story and the director who has knowledge about music had already started work on compositions. The movie was expected to go on floors in November this year, lekin ab... baat kuch aur hai.
The film was supposed to star Katrina Kaif as the female lead.
Coming back to Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, people are still having hopes that MNS will let the film release smoothly. Let’s wait and watch what happens on Oct 28.
