So, you see Karan Johar and The Phantoms as producers on posters of Shaandaar. We know that The Phantoms are Anurag Kashyap, Vikas Bahl, Vikramaditya Motwane and Madhu Mantena, who have always used their individual names in credits. So why are they suddenly calling themselves as Phantoms?

The story goes that Anurag and Vikas had a big fight over credits. Anurag was not too kicked about having Vikas' name as a producer.

A souce says, "Anurag felt that Vikas had only directed the film and he, Motwane and Mantena had looked into the production part. He wanted only three names from his company to go with Karan's name."

But Vikas refused to relent.

Seeing that the situation was getting out of hand, Mantena stepped in. Reveals the source, "He sat Vikas and Anurag down and suggested that 'The Phantoms' was the best way to resolve the crisis."

SpotboyE.com had first brought you the story how Vikas has distanced himself from Anurag (All's not well between Anurag Kashyap and Vikas Bahl, June 29). The situation has only worsened. Anurag and Vikas have almost stopped talking to each other. Sirf kaam se kaam? Maybe not even that!

So now you know how 'The Phantoms' were born. And remember you read it here first!
