S. S. Rajamouli's upcoming pan-India film 'RRR' starring Ram Charan and Jr. NTR in lead roles is one of the most anticipated movies for obvious reasons. The actioner, which was scheduled to release this month, got postponed due to a significant rise in the number of Covid-19, following which theatres have been shut. Apart from Charan and NTR, RRR also features Bollywood actors Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn in cameo roles. To note, not just to the lead actors, Rajamouli has also paid a huge amount in crores to Alia-Ajay for their cameos.
Yes, you read that right! According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, while the Raazi actress has been paid Rs. 9 crores, the Singham actor charged a fee of Rs. 35 crores for his seven-days' work. A source close to the development was quoted saying, “At least Alia Bhatt has been paid what she normally charges other producers in Mumbai. Although she has less than twenty minutes of playing-time she is the official leading lady of RRR and has been paid close to Rs. 9 crores for her brief role.”
The insider also revealed that this “whopping amount has been paid to attract North Indian audience to the theatres, as both Devgn and Alia are the audience-baiters in North India.”
Earlier, in an interview with Indian Express, SS Rajamouli had opened up about the importance of Alia and Ajay characters in RRR and stated they have played roles that are an integral part of the story. The Baahubali director mentioned that Ajay's character in the film 'is its soul.' Talking about Alia’s character, he stated, “we know there are two forces, two powerhouses in the movie (Ram Charan and Jr. NTR), and if there is one person who has to balance them, who has the ability and the strength to contain them, then it is Sita, played by Alia Bhatt.” ALSO READ:
