Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot shot to the fame after starring in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The actress' performance as Princess Diana was held in high regards so it pretty much goes without saying that starring opposite the actress is surely a big deal. And guess who bagged it? Well, it is Ali Fazal who will be seen opposite Gal Gadot in Agatha Christie's Death on The Nile alongside Gadot. Fazal has earlier worked with Dame Judi Dench in Victoria & Abdul.
Confirming the news to Bombay Times, Ali said, "Yes, I am a part of this wonderful journey and I am looking forward to it. My mother and I have always been huge fans of Agatha Christie novels, so this is special.” About working with director Kenneth Branagh, he added, “Kenneth is a master of his craft and I’m excited to be directed by him. And what a stellar cast to join hands with on this project!"
The film is said to be an adaptation of Agatha Christie’s 1937 detective fiction novel, Death On The Nile, which will be directed by Kenneth Branagh, who previously helmed movies like Murder On The Orient Express and the Thor series. It is also reported, Ali and Gal will be seen in the modern-day adaptation of the novel. The film expected to go on floors later this month in London and parts of Europe.
Talking about the plot, a character named Hercule Poirot investigates a murder case that takes place in a cruise on the Nile. As the probe begins, a handful of suspects emerge, but later, several of them meet their demise, further deepening the mystery. Knowing how Christie's mystery books are uncrackable and gripping, we super excited to see this film as well. More so to see Ali and Gal sharing the same screen space.
Though not much details are revealed about any of their characters, this has certainly piqued our interest to watch it.
