In September 2020 came news of Akshaye Khanna finally making his debut in the digital space with light-hearted web series titled De-coupled helmed by Hardik Mehta. However, now as per latest reports in Peepingmoon.com, the actor has apparently stepped down from the project as he was unhappy with certain creative portions of this project and hence decided to back out from it on amicable terms. But this has not let the makers in a fix, the makers already have a replacement for Khanna in place.
Actor R. Madhavan has been locked for the role, confirmed a source of the said portal. The actor will fly back to India after wrapping up Gaurang Doshi’s venture titled 7th Sense, a web series currently being filmed in Dubai. The Source said, “R Madhavan has been finalized to play the lead now. Producers Vikramaditya Motwane, Bhavesh Mandalia, and Sejal Shah immediately approached Madhavan after Khanna declared his exit, and Madhavan also happily agreed to it.”
The source also added, “The 3 Idiots actor who's currently wrapping Gaurang Doshi's murder-mystery web-series, 7th Sense in Dubai will soon fly back to Mumbai to start De-coupled that goes on floors on 9th November," the sources said.
Surveen Chawla
Reports also stated actress Surveen Chawla will be seen opposite Madhavan in this series, playing his better half. The actress is shown to be portraying a smart Mumbai based girl, capitalist employed with an MNC. While Madhavan plays a writer who is on the second spot on the list of writers, whose names people often forget. The story revolves around this couple who are on the verge of de-coupling but are attached due to their 8-year old daughter.
