Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan won hearts with their horro-comedy, Bhool Bhulaiyaa in 2007. While Akshay is known for his comic timing, Vidya impressed one and all with her Ghostly avatar. And now, there are reports that a sequel of the film is being made.
That's right! After announcing the remake of BR Chopra’s 1978 drama Pati
Patni Aur Woh with Kartik Aaryan, Ananya Panday and Bhumi Pednekar, and
Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s 1975 slice-of-life comedy Chupke Chupke with Rajkummar
Rao reprising Dharmendra’s role, T-Series honcho Bhushan Kumar is set to have a
sequel of his 2007 home production Bhool Bhulaiyaa, which also starred Shiney
Ahuja. The sequel has been titled as Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 but the cast of the film
has not been revealed yet.

A source close to the development told Mumbai Mirror, “Bhushan wanted to
make a part 2 of Bhool Bhulaiyaa for a while now and has cracked an idea with
Farhad Samji, who will be writing and directing the film. It is in the
development stage and will feature a fresh cast. Once the final script is
locked, the team will kick off casting and other pre-production formalities.”
Still From Bhool Bhulaiyaa
Bhool Bhulaiyaa was an official remake of the 2005 Tamil film
Chandramukhi starring Rajinikanth, originally directed by Priyadarshan. The
Thalaiva starrer was itself a remake of a Malayalam film, Manichitrathazhu,
starring Mohanlal and Shobhana which released in 1993. Akshay Kumar, Vidya
Balan and Shiney Ahuja’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa saw Vidya and Shiney playing a couple
who decide to stay in their ancestral home, paying no heed to the warnings
about ghosts in the premises. Akki was seen playing Ahuja’s psychiatrist-friend
Dr Aditya Shrivastav, who bail them out of the situation.
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar is busy with Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi. Later,
the actor will also start shooting for the horror-comedy Laxmi Bomb, in which
Akshay’s character is possessed by a transgender ghost. The film co-stars Kiara
Advani.
