Rumour mills are at work! If trade buzz is to be believed Akshay Kumar is likely to replace Salman Khan in No Entry sequel. Reports further suggest that the makers are contemplating to have a fresh star cast for the sequel. Directed by Anees Bazmee, the 2005 hit comedy had an ensemble cast of Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan, Fardeen Khan, Lara Dutta, Esha Deol, Celina Jaitley and Bipasha Basu in an extended cameo.
A few months ago,
there were reports stating that Hrithik Roshan had been roped in as the lead in
the movie. However, filmmaker Boney Kapoor shunned all such reports. “We have
not approached him (Hrithik),” he confirmed in an interview at that time with
PTI.
Not just this, Boney also confirmed that the script of the film was ready and Salman was suppose to read it. “I am going to meet Salman very soon and discuss the sequel. If he can't do it then we will explore possibilities. We have a script ready so we will explore (other actors),” he told PTI. But no announcement regarding the sequel came after that.
Salman has gone
ahead to sign another thriller-comedy, Race 3. So does that mean Salman has
turned down the No Entry sequel? Boney suggested months ago that if Salman
can’t do the film, they will explore other options. So, is Akshay the chosen
one now?
