Akshay Kumar has been facing trolling and backlash for the last few months. Khiladi Kumar was trolled for promoting a tobacco brand Vimal and then his latest movie Samrat Prithviraj was a box office failure as it could not live up to the expectations of the audience. He reportedly wrapped up Samrat Prithviraj in just 42 days and the actor became a butt of jokes and got trolled for the same on social media. Recently, Kumar reacted to R Madhvan’s dig of shooting the film in 40-45 days.
According to several reports, during the promotions of Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, R Madhavan said that huge movies like RRR and Pushpa: The Rise took more than a year. He praised Allu Arjun for Pushpa and said that he surrendered himself for the movie. Madhavan also added that the actors who are part of the granger movies gave time to the project for years and didn’t finish it in just months. Many netizens felt the Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein actor was referring to Akshay Kumar and his policy to shoot films in 40-45 days.
Kumar is busy promoting his upcoming film Raksha Bandhan directed by Anand L Rai. During the music launch of Raksha Bandhan’s first song, Tere Saath Hun Mein, the 54-year-old actor was asked about Madhavan’s comment and he reacted by saying, “Kya kehna chahunga? Bhai meri filmein khatam ho jaati hain main kya karoon? Main ismien thode hi kuch kar sakta hoon…meri filmein khatam ho jaati hain. Ek director aata hai kehta hai bhaiya aapka kaam khatam aap ghar jaaiye toh ab main ussey ladoon? (What should I do, if my films in few days? Should I fight with the director, if he says that you are done with your part in the film?)”.
Meanwhile, Raksha Bandhan also stars Bhumi Pednekar and there are four other actors debuting in the movie. The newcomers Sahejmeen Kaur, Deepika Khanna, Sadia Khateeb, and Smrithi Srikanth will be playing the role of Kumar's sisters in the movie, while Bhumi will be his love interest. The film is slated to release on August 11, 2022, in pan India.
Hoping the film does well and entertains the audience.
