Akshay Kumar Offers Financial Help To Mumbai's Celebrated Cinema Hall Grappling With Monetary Problems

Akshay Kumar continues with his generosity, the actor now lends his financial support to one of Mumbai’s most popular cinemas, to enable the owner to pay his staff salaries

Akshay Kumar was one of the first few celebs who lent his support to various charities during the lockdown period. The actor not only supported the country in terms of money but also helped in spreading awareness about the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, by urging people to take safety measures and stay indoors in order to practice social distancing. Once again the Khiladi Kumar of Bollywood has emerged as a savior for the oldest running theatre in the town.

As per reports in Mid Day, the Mission Mangal actor was reported to help the owner of Gaiety-Galaxy, Manoj Desai. Akki who came across a news piece of Manoj Desai taking a bank loan to pay his employees, lent him financial support allowing him to pay off his employees' salaries. Reciprocating to this kind gesture of the actor, he confirmed of Akshay providing him financial assistance in conversation with IANS. Manoj also assured of the managing funds which shall help him pay his employees this month’s salaries.

As per reports in IANS, the owner of Gaiety-Galaxy owner was quoted saying, “Three days ago, I got a call from Akshayji. He offered to provide financial assistance if the scenario continues. It was kind of him to offer help, but we should find a way to sustain ourselves. We have managed to collect enough funds to pay the salaries for this month, but the theatre shutdown will have long-term ramifications. Our focus is to ensure we don’t trim staff or resort to pay cuts.”

Manoj also mentioned about the recovering period post this 45 days lockdown period to be a tough one. He further said, “I will head to Gaiety and Maratha Mandir today to finalise our plan of action for May.
