Looks like, Akshay Kumar and T-Series head honcho Bhushan Kumar truly believe in letting bygones be bygones. A cold war between the two seems to have come to an end as they are now “planning a film together.” Flashback: A year-and-a-half ago, Akshay and Bhushan shared a close friendship until Akki opted out of Mogul, a biopic on the life and times of Bhushan’s late father, Gulshan Kumar. The duo has earlier collaborated on films like Humko Deewana Kar Gaye, Bhool Bhulaiya and Airlift. But last year, when Kumar’s Satyameva Jayate clashed with Akki’s Gold on August 15, 2018, it was reported that it was his way of getting back at the actor for leaving their pet project in the lurch.
Speaking to Mumbai Mirror, when Akshay was asked about their ‘cold war’ he denied the rumours and said, “There’s no problem between us at all. Bhushan ji had come over to my office a couple of days ago and we’re planning a film together.” When asked if he will be acting in the sequel to Bhool Bhulaiya, Akshay said, “We’ll be announcing it soon.”
Not only this, even a source close to the development told Mirror, “Akshay and Bhushan met and decided to bury the hatchet. During the meeting, there was a reference to both their films releasing together on August 15 and if it could have been avoided. But since that seemed unlikely, neither of them pursued the subject.”
