Over the years, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has made a name for himself in the entertainment industry through is versatile performances and action sequences. As he is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Bade Miyan Chote Miya, co-starring Tiger Shroff, he recently flew to Abu Dhabi. He reached the capital of UAE, on February 14, amid heavy security for the inauguration ceremony of the BAPS Hindu Mandir.
The news agency PTI took to their official X (formerly known as Twitter) handle to share a video of the 56-year-old actor arriving at the venue and talking to the media present there. He was seen wearing a traditional outfit consisting of an off-white printed kurta. He cordial spoke to the media, as he entered the temple grounds amid tight security. For the unversed, the temple was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday evening.

For those who don’t know, BAPS stands for a socio-spiritual Hindu faith that is deeply ingrained in the Vedas. It was initiated by Bhagwan Swaminarayan during the late 18th century and was founded by Shastriji Maharaj in 1907. The proposition to build a Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi emerged when PM Modi visited the UAE in 2015 for an inaugural visit. It was after the visit that the government had designated a land for the construction of the temple.
On the work front, last seen in Mission Raniganj and OMG 2, Akshay Kumar has Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Sarfira, Singham Again, Hera Pheri 3, and the multi-starrer Welcome To The Jungle in his pipeline. He will also be making his debut in the Marathi film industry with Mahesh Manjrekar directorial Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat. he will be seen essaying the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
