Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif have interesting projects in their kitty. However, fans are eagerly waiting for the film Sooryavanshi starring the two of them. As many already know, Rohit Shetty's cop drama was originally slated to hit the theatre screens in March, last year. Unfortunately, due to the surge in Coronavirus cases in India, the film was then scheduled for April 30. Due to the second wave of Corona, Sooryavanshi's release was once again postponed and its fans were left heartbroken.
Things are now slowly getting back to normal. Due to the current situation, multiplex owners and single screen owners are eagerly expecting to reopen cinemas. Previous reports claimed that Rohit Shetty's film will be released in theatres during Diwali but apparently the makers have changed their mind and are now planning to release the film early. Yes, you read that right!
As per a report in BollywoodLife, the makers are planning to release the film during the Independence weekend this year. Reportedly, Rohit Shetty, Akshay Kumar, Reliance Entertainment and Karan Johar's Dharma Productions believe that given the theme of the film, Independence Day is the perfect period to finally release the film. As many are aware, Sooryavanshi will feature extended cameos from Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn as Simmba and Singham.
The report further states that an official announcement will only be made by the team after the COVID-19 situation and its lockdown eases up to a great extent. Talking about the trailer, it received a great response from the audience. Akshay and Katrina have earlier worked together in many films including De Dana Dan, Welcome and more.
