Emraan Hashmi donned an author's hat in 2016 when he penned a book, The Kiss of Life - How Superhero & My Son Defeated Cancer. It was co-written by Bilal Siddiqi. The foreword for this book of the Murder actor was penned by Akshay Kumar. Now after five years, these two talented actors are said to be collaborating for Karan Johar’s next venture. Backed by Dharma Productions, it will be directed by Raj Mehta. This news was published on News18.com.
The film is a remake of Driving License, a Malayalam movie that starred Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu in pivotal roles. While it is said Khiladi Kumar will be stepping into the shoes of Prithviraj Sukumaran who played a superstar, Emraan will reprise Suraj’s role. He will be seen playing a traffic inspector in the movie, who is a crazy fan of the superstar. The movie is likely to go on floors in early 2022.
The report states, “This is the first time the two actors are going to work together. The film is a remake of the Malayalam film Driving License which featured Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu in the lead roles. While Akshay steps into the shoes of Prithviraj and plays a superstar/ Emraan reprises the role of a traffic inspector who is also a diehard fan of the superstar which was originally portrayed by Suraj. The shooting is expected to start early next year.”
This will mark Raj Mehta’s reunion with Akshay Kumar after Good Newzz, the director is currently busy with Jug Jugg Jeeyo. The team is yet to shoot one song for which they will be travelling to Russia. Following this, the makers will begin its post-production process.
