The first instalment of Aksar which featured Emraan Hashmi, Dino Morea and Udita Goswami may not have set the cash registers ringing, but the film’s music continues to resonate with viewers. Who can forget the peppy number Jhalak Dikhla Ja or the melodious Soniye and Lagi Lagi?
The 2006 film is all set to get a sequel, the teaser of which was released sometime ago. Gautam Rode, the male lead of the project, took to Twitter and wrote, "Coming soon #Aksar2 😇@ananthmahadevan @zareen_khan @Chirag_NB @sreesanth36 @tipsofficial @Mithoon11 @ashukla09 @vaarunbajaj @narenbajaj.”

The 15-second teaser does not feature any of the cast members – Gautam, Zareen Khan, Sreesanth or Mohit Madan. In fact, it just has the message: How often do you see the trap?" appear on the screen.
Intriguing. Isn’t it?
Months ago, we told you that Himesh Reshammiya has been replaced by Mithoon and Sachin Gupta in Aksar 2. A source close to Aksar 2’s director-producer Ananth Mahadevan confirmed the news and said, “The director wanted a fresh approach to the film which is why he opted for Mithoon and Sachin Gupta. Mithoon and Sachin will have a couple of songs in the project.”
The source further added that the song Jhalak Dikhla Jaa could be remixed or remade as one of the promotional numbers for the film.
Mithoon and Ananth Mahadevan had last collaborated on the film Meeting Se Meeting Tak (2013) and prior to that had worked together for the films Aggar and The Train in 2007.
