Actor Jaaved Jaaferi is the latest celebrity to voice his opinions on the ongoing debate over the Hindi language. For the unversed, Ajay Devgn and Kiccha Sudeep got into a heated argument on Twitter after the latter refused to call Yash starrer KGF 2 a pan-India film saying “Hindi is no more our national language.” However, Ajay stated he does not agree with the Kannada star. Now, Jaaved has reacted to this and stated that the constitution gives no language the status of the ‘National language’.
In an interview with India Today, Jaaferi admitted he was initially under the impression that Hindi is the national language but then he find out that our constitution gives no language such status. He was quoted saying, “I read up a bit about it. Constitutionally, there is no one language. That's what I looked at. I was looking at the official Indian languages and the constitution gives no language a status of the national language. I came across that. I was even under the impression that Hindi is the national language. But I just looked up that the constitution gives no language the status of a national language.” ALSO READ: Sonu Sood REACTS To Hindi Debate After Ajay Devgn-Kiccha Sudeep Twitter Spat; 'Don't Think Hindi Can Be Called Just The National Language'
